We are proudly based in Farmville, Virginia, but we work with families across the U.S. and welcome nationwide inquiries.
Yes! We are a TICA-registered cattery, and all of our kittens come with TICA registration paperwork, ensuring they are purebred and from an ethical program.

  • We are happy to provide FaceTime or video calls so you can see us and our cats in real time.

Our breeding cats undergo fecal and respiratory testing, along with FeLV and FIV blood testing performed by our licensed veterinarian. Before breeding, every cat is tested for:
  • 50+ genetic diseases (including HCM and PKD)
  • Blood type and traits
  • Genetic diversity markers

This comprehensive panel includes conditions such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), GM1/GM2 Gangliosidosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency, Multidrug Resistance 1, and many more β€” ensuring our kittens are bred from the healthiest foundation possible.
Yes β€” HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) are part of our core DNA testing program, along with many other inheritable conditions.
Our kittens are ready to go home around 12 weeks. By this time, they are well-socialized, vaccinated, fully health-checked, and spayed or neutered.
You must first fill out and be approved for an adoption application. Once approved, you will be marked as pre-approved and receive a private email announcing the official reservation date. Reservations typically open when kittens are around 5 weeks old. On reservation day, spots are secured on a first come, first served basis β€” determined by who successfully places their deposit first. All deposits are submitted directly through our website.

About the Ragdoll Breed
The Ragdoll is a large, semi-longhaired, blue-eyed cat breed known for its incredibly gentle and docile temperament. They were developed in the 1960s in California by breeder Ann Baker and are one of the most popular cat breeds in the world today. Ragdolls are often called "puppy cats" because they follow their owners from room to room, go limp when held, and thrive on human companionship.
Ragdolls get their name from their adorable tendency to go completely limp and relaxed when picked up β€” just like a child's ragdoll toy. This floppy, trusting behavior is a hallmark of the breed and one of the many reasons families fall in love with them.
Traditional Ragdolls are pointed cats β€” meaning they have darker color on their ears, face, legs, and tail β€” and always have striking blue eyes. They come in colors including:
  • Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Red, and Cream
And in patterns including:
  • Colorpoint (darker points, no white)
  • Mitted (white paws, chin, and belly stripe)
  • Bicolor (classic inverted "V" on the face with white body)
  • Lynx (tabby-style striping within the points)
All traditional Ragdolls are born pure white and develop their color over the first two years of life.
Ragdolls are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. Males typically weigh 15–20 lbs and females 10–15 lbs at full maturity. They are slow-maturing cats and don't reach their full size and coat until around 4 years of age β€” making them even more impressive as they grow!
Ragdolls are famously gentle, affectionate, and calm. They are the ultimate lap cats β€” loving cuddles, following their people from room to room, and getting along beautifully with children, other cats, and even dogs. They are not typically aggressive or high-strung, making them one of the most family-friendly cat breeds available.
Absolutely! Ragdolls are one of the best cat breeds for families with children. Their patient, tolerant nature means they handle the energy of kids very well. They also tend to get along with other cats and dogs, especially when introduced properly. At AquaMarine Kittens, our kittens are raised with children from birth, so they are already well-socialized before they come home with you.
Ragdolls typically live between 12–17 years, and many well-cared-for Ragdolls reach 20 years or more. Proper nutrition, regular veterinary care, and a safe indoor lifestyle all contribute to a long, healthy life.
Ragdolls have a beautiful semi-long coat, but because they lack a thick undercoat they shed less than many other long-haired breeds and are far less prone to matting. A quick brush 2–3 times a week is typically all that's needed to keep their coat looking gorgeous. They are considered a relatively low-maintenance long-haired breed.
No cat is truly hypoallergenic, and Ragdolls are no exception. However, because they lack a dense undercoat and produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 allergen than some other breeds, some allergy sufferers find they tolerate Ragdolls better. We always recommend spending time with the breed before committing if allergies are a concern.
Ragdolls should be kept strictly indoors. Their trusting, gentle nature means they do not have the natural street-wariness that helps other cats stay safe outdoors. They are perfectly happy as indoor cats and thrive with enrichment, window perches, cat trees, and interactive play.
About the Cherubim Breed
A Cherubim is a Mink, Sepia, or Solid-colored Ragdoll that was officially recognized as its own breed classification by TICA (The International Cat Association) on May 1, 2025. They are part of the Ragdoll Breed Group and share the same body type, temperament, and history β€” the only difference is their coat color genetics. Ann Baker, the founder of the Ragdoll breed, originally called these cats "Cherubim" in the 1970s, and TICA's 2025 classification honors that original vision.
The core difference is color genetics. Traditional Ragdolls are exclusively pointed cats β€” they always have blue eyes and darker coloring only on their ears, face, legs, and tail. Cherubim cats carry the Mink, Sepia, or Solid gene, which gives them:
  • Richer, more uniform body color
  • Stunning aqua or gold-green eyes (Mink) rather than deep blue
  • Even softer, plush coats that feel incredibly luxurious
In terms of personality, size, and structure β€” they are identical. Both are gentle giants bred for temperament and love.
A Mink is the most popular color variation within the Cherubim classification. Unlike traditional pointed Ragdolls, Mink kittens are born with their color already visible β€” they do not go through a white phase. Their coats are described as having a mink-stole softness that is incredibly silky to the touch. Mink Cherubim typically have gorgeous aqua-colored eyes that are truly unique and striking.
Yes! As of May 1, 2025, Cherubim cats are officially recognized by TICA within the Ragdoll Breed Group and are eligible for Championship competition. All AquaMarine Kittens Cherubim kittens come with full TICA registration papers confirming their purebred status.
Yes β€” 100%. The Mink gene only affects color, coat texture, and eye pigmentation. The beloved Ragdoll temperament β€” affectionate, docile, floppy, social, and gentle β€” is completely identical in Cherubim cats. They are the same sweet "puppy cats" in every way that matters.
Cherubim cats come in three color categories:
  • Mink β€” one copy of the Burmese gene (cb/cs); born with color; aqua eyes
  • Sepia β€” two copies of the Burmese gene (cb/cb); deepest, richest color; gold-green eyes
  • Solid β€” full color with no point restriction; striking variety of eye colors
These come in the same base colors as Ragdolls β€” Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, and more β€” in patterns like Mitted, Bicolor, and Colorpoint.
Cherubim are large cats, just like their Ragdoll cousins. Males typically reach 15–20 lbs and females 10–15 lbs at full maturity around 4 years of age. They are impressively sized, muscular yet graceful, and are known for the adorable small fatty pad on their lower abdomen β€” a beloved breed characteristic!
Cherubim kittens offer everything families love about Ragdolls β€” the size, the floppiness, the gentle temperament β€” with the added bonus of richer, more vibrant coat colors and those jaw-dropping aqua eyes. If you want a cat that truly turns heads while still being the ultimate cuddle companion, a Cherubim Mink might be exactly what you're looking for. At AquaMarine Kittens, we breed both Ragdolls and Cherubim so you can find the perfect match for your family.
At the moment we produce Seal and Blue β€” both in traditional Ragdolls and Mink Cherubims. Our kittens primarily come in Mitted and Bicolor patterns, which are among the most sought-after and beautiful expressions of the breed.
