TICA Code of EthicsWhy Choose Us as Your
Ragdoll or Cherubim Breeder?
Becoming a Ragdoll breeder wasn't planned β it grew from love.
Welcome to AquaMarine Kittens in Farmville, Virginia, where our Ragdolls and Cherubims are raised inside our home as part of our daily family life. Our journey began with our first Ragdoll, Belle, whose gentle and affectionate personality inspired us to preserve that same temperament in future generations.
We are a family of seven who raise our kittens around children, laughter, playtime, and everyday household sounds. The kittens are held often, loved deeply, and naturally socialized in a warm home environment.
We specialize in breeding Ragdoll Cats and Cherubim Cats with a strong focus on temperament, health, and family-friendly traits. If you are looking for a Ragdoll or a Cherubim, our kittens are raised with care and intention β ready to become a cherished part of your home.

Two of the world's most gentle, affectionate breeds β raised in our home from birth
Ragdoll Cats
Ragdoll cats are widely regarded as one of the most popular and beloved breeds for families and cat enthusiasts across the globe. Known for their calm, affectionate, and social personalities, these cats are often described as "puppy-like" due to their eagerness to follow their humans around, curl up in laps, and form deep bonds with every household member. Unlike many cat breeds that prefer independence, Ragdolls thrive on human companionship, making them an ideal choice for families with children, busy households, or other pets.
Ragdolls were first developed in the 1960s in California, with breeders selectively pairing cats that displayed both a gentle temperament and striking physical characteristics. Their name, "Ragdoll," comes from their unique tendency to go completely limp when picked up β a behavior that reflects their trust, calmness, and relaxed nature. Beyond their loving personality, Ragdolls are intelligent and adaptable, forming lasting bonds that enrich family life in countless ways.
Size & Coat
Ragdolls are considered a large to extra-large breed. Adult males typically weigh between 15β20 pounds, while females usually weigh 10β15 pounds. Despite their size, Ragdolls maintain an elegant and muscular build that combines strength with grace. Their semi-long, silky coat lies close to the body and feels soft to the touch, providing both a luxurious texture and a low-maintenance grooming experience compared to other long-haired breeds. Regular brushing is still recommended to prevent tangles, particularly around the neck, chest, and underbelly, where their fur is thickest.
Temperament & Personality
Ragdolls are celebrated for their calm, loving, and social nature. These cats thrive on interaction and attention, often following their humans from room to room. They are highly adaptable, making them perfect companions in households with children, other pets, or even busy daily schedules. Unlike some breeds, Ragdolls are not aggressive or excessively vocal. Intelligence is another hallmark of Ragdolls β they enjoy interactive toys, puzzle feeders, and gentle training sessions. True to their "lap-cat" reputation, Ragdolls often curl up beside their favorite person, providing hours of companionship and emotional comfort.
Health & Care
While Ragdolls are generally healthy cats, responsible breeders conduct thorough health testing for conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), kidney issues, and hip dysplasia. Regular veterinary check-ups, a balanced diet, and proper grooming help maintain their long-term well-being. Their calm temperament makes them receptive to handling and training from a young age.
Cherubim Cats
Cherubim cats are a rare and rapidly growing breed, recognized for their gentle, playful, and affectionate personality, closely mirroring the temperament of Ragdolls. Often referred to as the "plush cousin" of Ragdolls, Cherubims feature a denser, more luxurious coat that feels exceptionally soft, giving them a cuddly and huggable appearance.
Like Ragdolls, Cherubims are highly social, calm, and family-friendly. They thrive in homes with children, other pets, and active daily routines. Their plush coats and expressive eyes make them highly desirable for families searching for something truly special.
Size & Coat
Cherubims are medium-to-large cats, boasting a muscular, elegant build. Their almond-shaped eyes vary slightly from the traditional Ragdoll blue, adding to their unique appearance. Their most notable feature is their plush, dense coat β thicker than a Ragdoll's β with an exceptionally soft texture. Regular grooming is essential to maintain the coat's silky texture and prevent matting, but their calm demeanor makes this a stress-free process for both the cat and the owner.
Temperament & Personality
Cherubims inherit the calm, gentle, and social personality of their Ragdoll cousins. They are intelligent, adaptable, and enjoy human interaction, playtime, and companionship with other pets. Their playful yet gentle nature makes them ideal for households seeking affectionate, loyal, and family-friendly cats. Cherubims are also highly interactive and enjoy toys, puzzle feeders, and gentle training, making them both mentally stimulated and emotionally connected to their owners.
Health & Care
Cherubims are generally healthy cats, but as with all purebred breeds, responsible breeders test for common hereditary conditions. Regular veterinary care, a balanced diet, and consistent grooming help ensure their long-term health. Their gentle temperament makes them receptive to handling and care from a young age.
