1. Health & Veterinary Care
A. Initial Health Guarantee
- The kitten is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale.
- The Buyer has 72 hours from pickup or delivery to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian if they choose to do so.
- If a serious illness or genetic issue is discovered within this 72-hour period, the kitten may be returned with a written veterinary diagnosis for a full refund of the purchase price. No reimbursement will be provided for travel, veterinary expenses, or related costs.
B. 2-Year Health Guarantee
The breeder guarantees the kitten against fatal congenital and genetic defects for 2 years from the date of birth.
In the case of death due to such defect, the buyer must provide a necropsy report at their expense.
Upon verification, a replacement kitten of equal value or a refund will be provided (breeder’s choice).
C. FIP Policy
The buyer acknowledges that Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) is present in much of the cat population, including purebred catteries. In rare cases, FCoV may mutate into FIP.
Though FIP is not genetic, it is covered under this contract for 1 year.
If diagnosed, the buyer must begin treatment immediately. Failure to seek treatment voids the guarantee.
If the kitten dies, a necropsy is required to confirm FIP before a replacement is considered.
D. Common Kitten Illnesses
The breeder is not responsible for non-genetic illnesses such as:
Viral or bacterial infections
Upper respiratory infections
Internal or external parasites
Stress-related diarrhea or appetite loss
These are common in kittens adjusting to new environments and must be treated promptly. Failure to provide proper care will void all guarantees.
3. Buyer Responsibilities
Buyer agrees not to declaw the kitten. Doing so voids all guarantees.
Under no circumstances will the kitten be sold, given away, or surrendered to:
Pet stores
Research labs
Breeding mills
Any unethical facility
4. General Terms
The breeder reserves the right to cancel or refuse any sale at their discretion if they feel the buyer/home is not suitable. If this occurs, the breeder will issue a full refund within 4 business days.
Buyer agrees to stay in communication with the breeder if any major health or relocation concerns arise.
5. Reservation & Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $________ is required to reserve a kitten.
This deposit holds your kitten until it is ready to go home, typically around 12 weeks of age.
The deposit will be applied toward the total purchase price.
If the buyer backs out for any reason, the deposit will be forfeited.
If the breeder cancels the sale, the deposit will be fully refunded within 4 business days.
6. Post-Sale Veterinary Responsibility
The seller is not liable for any veterinary care or expenses incurred once the kitten leaves our care. Under no circumstances will AquaMarine Kittens cover future vet bills.
7. Rehoming & Return Policy
If the buyer wishes to sell, rehome, or surrender the kitten at any point, the breeder must be notified first.
The breeder will assist in rehoming to ensure the kitten is placed in a safe and suitable home, but the ultimate responsibility remains with the buyer.
If the buyer chooses to return the kitten to the breeder, no refund will be given.
The breeder reserves the right to decline taking the kitten back if adequate space or resources are not available. The well-being of the animals currently in the breeder’s care will always take priority.
