🐾 Adoption Process

At AquaMarine Kittens, we keep our adoption process clear and simple so every family knows exactly how it works. Our goal is to make things fair, transparent, and stress-free while ensuring each kitten goes to the perfect forever home.

1. Adoption Application

The first step in bringing home one of our kittens is completing our Adoption Application. This helps us learn more about you, your home, and what kind of kitten will be the best fit for your family. Every application is carefully reviewed so we know our kittens are placed in safe, loving environments where they will thrive.

Once your application is approved, you’ll be eligible to reserve kittens as they are listed. We do not accept “pre-picks” or hold spots ahead of time. This way, every family has the same opportunity to choose when kittens officially become available.

2. Availability & Reservation Deposit

Kittens are officially listed as available for reservation at 7 weeks of age. By this time, we have a good idea of their temperament, color, and development, making it easier for families to select the right match.

We do not operate on a waitlist. Instead, our process is first come, first serve — whichever approved family places the reservation deposit first will secure the kitten. This system keeps things fair and avoids long waiting lists or uncertainties about availability.

Before kittens are reserved, families can follow their growth on our social media pages, where we post regular updates, photos, and videos. This allows you to watch each kitten develop, get a feel for their personality, and decide which little one might be the best fit for your home once they become available.

Reservation deposits are accepted through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle, and are non-refundable. Once your deposit is placed, the kitten is yours and will no longer be available to other families.

3. Sales Contract & Pickup/Delivery

Before your kitten leaves, you’ll sign our Sales Contract, which outlines health guarantees, spay/neuter agreements (for pets), and expectations for care. We’ll go over the contract carefully and answer any questions you may have.

Pickup is available at our home in Central Virginia, and in some cases, we can arrange hand delivery or a flight nanny for families at a distance (additional fees apply).
