Where is AquaMarine Kittens located?
We are proudly based in Farmville, Virginia, but we work with families across the U.S. and welcome nationwide inquiries
Are your Ragdoll and Cherubim kittens TICA registered?
Yes! We are a TICA-registered cattery, and all of our kittens come with TICA registration paperwork, ensuring they are purebred and from an ethical program.
How can I verify AquaMarine Kittens is real and not a scam?
That’s a very important question, and we encourage families to ask! You can verify us in several ways:
We are officially listed on the TICA Breeder Directory under AquaMarine Rags.
We are happy to provide FaceTime or video calls so you can see us and our cats in real time.
In rare cases, we may arrange a public meet-up if you are nearby.
We can share references from past families who have adopted from us.
You can also check our website testimonials and Facebook reviews, where families share their experiences with us.
We want every family to feel confident and secure when adopting a kitten from us. 🐾💙
How much do your kittens cost?
Our Ragdoll and Cherubim kittens are $2,500. This price reflects the extensive health testing, veterinary care, and loving socialization that goes into raising every kitten in our program.
What health testing do your breeding cats go through?
Our breeding cats undergo fecal and respiratory testing, along with FeLV and FIV blood testing performed by our licensed veterinarian.
Before breeding, every cat is tested for:
50+ genetic diseases (including HCM and PKD)
Blood type and traits
Genetic diversity markers
This comprehensive panel includes conditions such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), GM1/GM2 Gangliosidosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency, Multidrug Resistance 1, and many more. This ensures our kittens are bred from the healthiest foundation possible.
Do you DNA test for HCM, PKD, and other conditions?
Yes — HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) are part of our core DNA testing program, along with many other inheritable conditions.
At what age can kittens go to their new homes?
Our kittens are ready to go home around 12 weeks. By this time, they are well-socialized, vaccinated, and fully health-checked.
How can I reserve a kitten?
Kittens are listed as available at 7 weeks of age. Families may then reserve them directly with a non-refundable deposit through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. We work on a first-come, first-served basis, and do not use waitlists.
Do you keep a waitlist for kittens?
No, we do not. This way, you’re able to see each kitten’s unique look and personality before making a commitment.
Are your kittens socialized with children and other pets?
Yes! Our kittens are raised cage-free in our family home with plenty of play, handling, and attention. We have kids who love to interact with them daily, which helps kittens grow into confident, affectionate companions.
Do you allow visits to meet the kittens in person?
For safety & health reasons, we do not allow in-home visits. However, we keep families updated with photos, videos, FaceTime and social media posts so you can follow your kitten’s journey as they grow.
Do you ship or deliver kittens outside Virginia?
Yes. We work with trusted pet nannies and transport services to deliver kittens safely across the U.S.
Are your kittens spayed/neutered before going home?
At this time, our kittens are not altered before leaving, as we believe spaying/neutering too early can affect growth and long-term health. Instead, our contract requires that kittens be altered by 6 months of age. Proof of spay/neuter must be provided before TICA registration papers are released..
Do you offer breeding rights to other catteries?
Breeding rights are rarely offered and only to ethical, approved breeders who can demonstrate proper health testing and care standards. We also welcome new ethical breeders to reach out — we’re always open to sharing knowledge and supporting responsible programs.
What kind of food do your kittens eat?
We feed a raw diet as the foundation for all of our cats and kittens. However, before kittens go home, we also transition them to dry food if requested, so new families have the flexibility to choose what works best.
Do Ragdolls and Cherubim make good pets for families with children?
Yes! Both breeds are incredibly gentle, affectionate, and patient. They love children, get along with other pets, and thrive as family companions.
What should I bring on kitten pickup day?
We recommend bringing a safe cat carrier, a soft blanket, and some water for the trip. We’ll provide a starter kit with food, toys, and goodies to help your kitten settle into their new home.
What is the temperament of a Ragdoll?
Ragdolls are known as the “puppy cats” of the feline world. They are affectionate, gentle, and often go limp when you hold them — hence the name Ragdoll. They love being around people and thrive in family settings.
How are Cherubim cats different from Ragdolls?
Cherubim cats are closely related to Ragdolls and share the same sweet, laid-back personality. The main difference is that Cherubim come in more colors and patterns, giving families a wider variety while keeping that classic Ragdoll charm.
Do Ragdolls shed a lot?
Ragdolls and Cherubim have silky, semi-long coats that shed moderately but don’t mat as easily as other long-haired breeds. Regular brushing helps keep shedding under control and strengthens the bond with your cat.
Are Ragdolls and Cherubim truly indoor-only cats?
Yes, both breeds are best kept indoors. Their trusting, docile nature makes them vulnerable outdoors. A safe outdoor catio, however, is a great way for them to enjoy fresh air and bird-watching safely.
